Because Capstone College is an independent school our pupil free days are different to that of mainstream schools and students will be notified of these dates throughout the year.


Staff Include: Teachers, Community Specialists, Youth Case Worker, Learning Support Staff.


Teaching Stage 5 in 2017 – i.e. Years 9 & 10 in a two-year cyclic program – Maximum 16 Students per class.


Smaller class sizes allow students greater opportunity to identify their strengths and work to improve the areas in which they lack confidence.


College Facilities include: Two college properties, Five specialist learning rooms, Research centre, Oval and sports areas, Agriculture and natural learning environments The greatest difference between us and many education settings is that our college operates in supportive village where everyday village enterprises are able to become learning centres for developing work and community skills vital for employment.


Learning happens in an integral way where everything has order and meaning and our learning task is to unlock this meaning. Choice, Independence, Mutual Respect and Accountability all have a significant role to play.


Village Facilities available for real life learning activities include: Theatre, Media/ Recording Centre, Motel and Tearooms /Cafe, Creative Arts and Hot Glass Centre, Golf course, Tennis Court.


Our PRISM education Model is based on students learning in real environments on real problems. It is immersive and responsive to student and learning opportunities. PRISM stands for Problem Responsive Immersive School Model. Learning will be integrated into village life and take the form of 5 week study modules linked to the Australian Curriculum.


The Australian Curriculum we cover include: (Subjects - Level 9/10) Mathematics, English, Science, Australian Geography, Australian History, Physical Education and Health, Visual and Performing Arts, Work Studies, Design Technology.
